Teradata introduced a new artificial intelligence platform this week as company executives said businesses are now preparing to move beyond small AI experiments and begin using the technology in everyday operations.

The company revealed its Autonomous Knowledge Platform during recent earnings discussions, describing it as a system designed to help organizations manage AI, analytics, and business data across cloud and on site environments.

Teradata CEO Steve McMillan said many enterprises spent the past two years testing generative AI tools through pilot projects, but demand is now shifting toward real deployment at scale.

Businesses Want AI That Can Deliver Real Results

According to company executives, corporate customers are no longer satisfied with limited demonstrations or experimental AI projects. Many are now focused on integrating AI directly into daily business functions such as customer service, cybersecurity, financial analysis, logistics, and operations.

Teradata said companies are looking for systems that can manage large amounts of data securely while also supporting automation and advanced analytics.

Executives also highlighted rising interest in autonomous AI agents that can complete tasks, analyze information, and support decision making with less human involvement.

New Platform Built for Large Enterprise Systems

The company said its new platform combines data management, analytics, and AI tools into a single environment that works across multiple cloud providers and private infrastructure.

Teradata believes this approach will appeal to industries such as banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and government where businesses often need stronger control over sensitive information.

The company added that hybrid infrastructure remains important because many organizations are still unwilling to move all critical data entirely to the cloud.

Teradata Reports Strong Quarterly Performance

The platform launch came alongside Teradata’s latest quarterly earnings report, where the company posted revenue of about $444 million for the first quarter.

Executives said demand for cloud services and AI related products continued growing despite economic uncertainty and tighter corporate technology spending in some sectors.

Teradata also reported continued growth in recurring cloud revenue as more customers expand their long term contracts for analytics and data services.

Competition in Enterprise AI Continues to Grow

The launch reflects broader competition across the technology industry as software companies race to attract businesses investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Major cloud providers and enterprise software firms are increasingly focused on helping companies turn AI from an experimental technology into a practical business tool capable of generating measurable results.

Teradata executives said they believe the industry is entering a new phase where companies are expected to prioritize real productivity gains and operational efficiency instead of simple AI demonstrations.
